Examining the complicated relationships humans have with animals, “Pickle” is a film of unexpected warmth and mirth. Centering on the director’s parent’s dedication to homing sick and deformed animals (from paraplegic possums to cross-eyed cats), Pickle’s may sound morbid on paper, but it quickly proves to be life-affirming.
This is my third film with Amy Nicholson. We shot over 4 days in her parent’s house on the Chesapeake Bay.
